This Shangaan Amethyst is an enyhydro crystal. Enhydros are crystals with fluid inclusions, water or liquid was captured within chambers inside the crystal during its formation, a mobile air bubble can be seen in this specimen.
This locality of Amethyst is named after the Shangaan tribal people of the area, by Chief Gezani, leader and spokesperson for the Gezani communal lands of the Shangaan. Shangaan Amethyst is collected by the Shangaan people, they work together as a community, mining the Amethyst. This helps supports their village. The Shangaan people are proud to share their Amethyst crystals with the rest of the world.
